Dr. Knoch In Action

You are invited to join us for our Fall Saving Sight Session featuring Dr. Dan Knoch, Medical Student Education Director and comprehensive ophthalmologist in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences within the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. Learn the history, progression and options for cataract surgery from an award-winning educator and one of his patients during this fall’s session entitled:

“Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery: Fact vs. Fiction”

ABOUT DR. KNOCH

Daniel W. Knoch, MD, Medical Student Education Director and comprehensive ophthalmologist, focuses his clinical practice on state-of-the-art cataract surgical techniques, including laser-assisted cataract surgery, astigmatism-correcting intraocular lenses, and multifocal lenses. Dr. Knoch has also received multiple teaching awards in the last decade and most recently recognized nationally with the Award for Excellence in Medical Student Education for 2018 for outstanding medical student education, from the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology (AUPO) and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). In addition to his tireless efforts to ensure all graduating medical students have critical knowledge of the eye and developing the curriculum across campus, Dr. Knoch also serves as the Lecture Director of the department’s annual Multiphasic Phacoemulsification (cataract surgery) Course, an annual education program for regional learners and providers.

ABOUT SAVING SIGHT SESSIONS

Free and open to the public, this community-centric event is modeled after the UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health’s “Mini-Med School” programs. Our fall 2018 Saving Sight Session will feature the leading research from Dan Knoch, MD, Associate Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Wisconsin. Please join us for this exciting discussion and light dinner.
