Second-year residents, Han Kim and Angeline Wang, recently attended the Wisconsin Academy of Ophthalmology’s Annual Symposium in Green Bay. Both were nominated by WAO to present a research project or clinical case as part of the program’s recognition of resident achievement. Dr. Kim’s case review was titled, “When treatment is worse than disease: CMV retinitis,” while Dr. Wang presented her current research, “Acute Zonal Occult Outer Retinopathy: A Review of 25 Cases.”

Dr. Heather Potter, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Pathology/Comprehensive faculty member, also attended as a guest lecturer.

“I appreciated the opportunity to learn about a variety of topics ranging from medical malpractice, cataract patient selection to complex corneal disease. It was a great place to meet practicing ophthalmologists in Wisconsin and be present for updates about the administrative aspects of WAO.” – Dr. Kim

“Attending the WAO symposium was a great opportunity to meet and network with physicians in the state and listen to interesting lectures and talks, including ones about the business and political side of Ophthalmology.” – Dr. Wang
