Non-infectious scleritis is a potentially vision threatening inflammatory disease which often requires long-term treatment. The general approach to management consists of a thorough systemic workup and subsequent selection of the most appropriate therapeutic agent(s) for inflammatory control. This article reviews current and emerging therapies for scleritis treatment, including topical agents, systemic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and corticosteroids, conventional immunomodulatory therapies, and biologics.
