We were pleased to host two learners from our global partner institutions in Manila, Philippines for a week-long rotation in June: Drs. Paul Apilado and Cathleen Villafuerte. Dr. Apilado is the chief ophthalmology resident from the University of Santo Tomas Hospital, and Dr. Villafuerte is a glaucoma fellow from Cardinal Santos Medical Center. In addition to observing in clinic, the pair spent the week experiencing cultural activities with our ophthalmology residents, including playing pickleball and enjoying dinner at Quivey’s Grove. Their experience concluded with poster presentations at the Wisconsin Ophthalmology Research Day on June 12.
