Dr. Matthew Davis, of the UW-Madison Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, has been selected as the recipient of the 2016 Laureate Recognition Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). Dr. Davis is known for his groundbreaking work in clinical trials related to diabetic retinopathy and founded the University of Wisconsin Fundus Photography Reading Center (FPRC), which performs evaluation of images produced for clinical trials of retinal diseases. The FPRC remains a valuable part of the Department to this day.
