Ms. Linda Callow will assume the Department Administrator role of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, effective October 1, 2019.
Ms. Callow is a Certified Public Accountant with an Executive Master in Business Administration degree from UW-Madison, and a Bachelor in Business Administration degree in Accounting from UW-Whitewater. She has over 25 years of progressively responsible professional management experience at UW-Madison. She has worked for the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences for the past 12 years, and currently holds dual roles as the Interim Department Administrator and the Associate Administrator for Clinical Operations and Finance.
Ms. Callow has held multiple positions at UW-Madison, which include Assistant Dean for Administration and Finance at the School of Nursing, and Director of Business Services at the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics. She has extensive management, financial, administrative, and budgeting experience. She has developed and directed the implementation of policies, systems, and processes related to administration, budgeting, internal and external financial reporting, research activities, purchasing, travel, and other operations to support the respective missions of the organizations.
Ms. Callow will work towards increasing administrative communication, streamlining processes, and supporting professional development opportunities.
