DETAILS ABOUT the UW GLAUCOMA FELLOWSHIP
The year-long fellowship provides a balanced and extensive education experience in both the medical and surgical aspects of glaucoma. We provide referral-based and primary eye care for adults and children with glaucoma. Our spectrum of care includes the evaluation of glaucoma suspects through tertiary surgical management of eyes that have undergone multiple glaucoma procedures, including patients with congenital glaucoma and those with keratoprostheses. We provide state-of-the-art medical therapy and laser treatment, as well as MIGS and trabeculectomy/tube implant devices. In addition to the department-wide learning opportunities including weekly Grand Rounds and case conferences, we have glaucoma-specific didactics and journal clubs, as well as post-clinic and OR debriefs where each patient’s diagnostic and management decisions are discussed in detail. Fellows are strongly encouraged to engage in clinical-based research, quality improvement projects, and participate in professional development opportunities at national meetings such as the American Glaucoma Society. The Glaucoma Fellowship is accredited by AUPO FCC. For more information regarding surgical case numbers, program requirements and fellow expectations this program adheres to, please visit the AUPO FCC website.
