Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences Offers Online CME and Optometric CE Accreditation

Ophthalmologists and optometrists are now able to view department Grand Rounds and apply for Continuing Medical Education (CME) or Optometric CE (Continuing Education) credits online. During this six-month pilot program, those seeking credits will view the presentation and answer a handful of questions based on the learning objectives of the session. Presentations will be accessible for online CME/CE up to a year after the presentations are posted.

We are very excited to be among the first University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Medicine and Public Health departments offering online CME/CE. There is currently no cost for this service. We hope this pilot will give us usage information so that we can assess the participation and value of online CME and CE to eye care professionals.

A link to the CME catalog will be posted here as soon as it’s available.

Please note the following:

  • Recorded programs will generally be available for online access within one week of the live Grand Rounds presentation, the first to be posted on October 11, 2016 and weekly thereafter as presentations occur. Please check Events for scheduled Grand Rounds.
  • Each quiz following an online viewing will require a 100% passing score, one retake is allowed, per the accreditation standards.

  • Upon completion of the quiz and evaluation in full, you will then receive an email with a proof of credit attached.
