The UW Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences recently completed a milestone rotation at Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital (SCEH) in India, marking a decade of partnership as SCEH celebrated 25 years of medical education. This year’s rotation was particularly historic, welcoming Dr. Gillian McLellan —the first basic science researcher to participate— alongside senior ophthalmology residents Drs. Breanna Aldred, Georges Guillaume, and Sam Whittier, as well as Residency Program Director Dr. Anna Momont.

From hands-on training to collaborative research, this partnership continues to advance global ophthalmology, enhance patient care, and foster innovation for our communities.

The rotation ran from January 31 to February 15, 2025.
